AIPMT: Apply by Jan 12 without late fee CBSE will conduct the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT)- 2016, for the academic session 2016-17 from 10 am to 1 pm on 1st May 2016 (Sunday) for admission to the 15% merit positions in the Govt Medical/Dental Colleges in India

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT)- 2016, for the academic session 2016-17 from 10 am to 1 pm on 1st May 2016 (Sunday) for admission to the 15% merit positions in the Government Medical/Dental Colleges in India and for admission to the MBBS/BDS seats offered by the State Governments/Universities/Institutions voluntarily participating in the AIPMT- 2016, using its merit list for admission in the Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges against seats under their control.

The Entrance Test shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen provided by CBSE at centre only. Each question will have four options with single correct answer. Candidates can opt for Question Paper either in English or in Hindi. Option of medium of Question Paper should be exercised while filling in the application form and the option once exercised cannot be changed later. Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only and the candidates opting for Hindi would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet. In case of any ambiguity in translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final. Each item carries 4 marks. For each correct response the candidate will get 4 marks. For each incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. More than one answer indicated in a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked.

AIPMTEligibility for All India Quota:

To be eligible for admission to the 15% All India Quota Seats, applicant should be an Indian National and should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or should be completing the age on or before 31st December 2016. The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats is 25 years as on 31st December 2016. The upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of five years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes. Candidate must have been born on or between 01/01/87 and 01/01/2000 if belonging to SC/ST/OBC Categories and between 01/01/92 to 01/01/2000 if belonging to other categories.

Students from the States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J & K are not eligible for 15% all India quota seats as these States had opted out of All India Scheme since its inception. If they claim eligibility, they must submit online Self Declaration which will be generated and printed automatically along with confirmation page for the record and to present during counselling. The draft self-declaration is as given in Appendix-III of the Information Bulletin.

Students from States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J & K can appear in AIPMT for admission to Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune subject to the fulfilment of eligibility conditions.

For seats under the control of participating States/Universities/Institutions/ AFMC ap0plicant should be an Indian National or an Overseas Citizens of India and should have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or should be completing the age on or before 31st December 2016. The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under seats in the control of participating States/Universities/Institutions shall be as per their rules and regulations.

Academic Eligibility:
Applicant should have passed any one of the following qualifying examinations
(i) Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education. Where the course content is not as prescribed for 10+2 education structure of the National Committee, the candidates will have to undergo a period of one year pre – professional training before admission to the Medical Colleges.

(ii) The Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science of an Indian University/Board or other recognised examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Bio-technology (which shall include practical test in these subjects) and also English as a compulsory subject

(iii) The Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology & English after passing either the Higher Secondary Examination or the Pre-University or an equivalent examination. The Pre-professional/Pre-medical examination shall include practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject

(iv) The first year of the three years’ degree course of a recognised University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology including practical tests in these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination and candidate has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology with English at a level not less than a core course.

(v) B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc. Examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Bio-technology and further that he/ she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

(vi) Any other examination which in scope and standard (Last 02 years of 10+2 Study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology; which shall include practical test in these subjects) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology including practical tests in each of these subjects and English.

A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination, (12th Standard) in 2016, whose result is awaited, may apply subject to the conditions that he/she passes the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks at the time of first round of Counselling.

Minimum marks:
Applicant must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination and in addition must have come in the merit list of All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test(AIPMT) for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.

In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 40% marks instead of 50% marks for General Candidates. Further, for persons with locomotor disability of lower limbs, minimum of 45% marks for Gen-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.

Students’ educated abroad seeking admission into medical colleges in India must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English up to the 12th standard level with 50% marks and their equivalency determined as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University. If a candidate does not fall within the qualifications prescribed, he/she should furnish complete details to determine eligibility.

The Pre-medical course may be conducted either at a Medical College or at a Science College. Marks obtained in Mathematics are not to be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses.

Fee:
Application can be submitted without late fee and with late fee. Application Fee is Rs.1400/- for General/OBC applicants and Rs.750/- for SC/ST/PH categories. The fee can be remitted using (i) Credit Card/Debit Card (ii) through e-challan by depositing in CBSE Account with Syndicate Bank, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank or HDFC Bank (iii) Net Banking and (iv) e-wallet of Common Services Centre (CSC).

Application:
Applications can be submitted online at http://www.aipmt.nic.in. The list of Examination Centres where AIPMT would be held is given as Appendix-II of the Bulletin. Applicant should select three Convenient Cities for the entrance Test from Appendix-II.

The last date for submission of application depends on the mode of payment of Application Fee. Applications can be submitted online till 8th January, 2016, if the application fee is paid by e-challan and till 12th January, 2016, if the application fee is paid by other modes. Last date for successful final transaction of fee would be 12th January, 2016 in both cases.

Applications can be submitted online after these dates with a late fee of Rs.1400/- for all categories. Online application can be submitted from 13th January, 2016 to 6th February, 2016 with late fee if paid through e-challan and till 10th February, if paid through other modes. General/OBC applicants will have to pay Rs.2800/- and SC/ST/PH applicants, Rs.2150/- in such cases. Last date for successful final transaction of fee would be 10th February, 2016 in both cases.

Application can be submitted in four steps. In Step-1, applicant should fill in the on-line application form and note down the registration number. In Step-2, applicant should upload images of photograph, signature and Right Hand Index Finger impression in JPG format. In Step-3, applicant should make payment of fee through Debit/Credit Card/ e-challan/Net Banking/e-wallet (CSC).

If it is decided to pay fee through e-Challan, after step 3, applicant should choose the desired Bank for depositing the Fee and download the e-challen from website, http://www.aipmt.nic.in. The fee should be deposited in the chosen Bank by 12th January, 2016 without late fee. After this date, fees cannot be deposited and candidate has to generate new challan for which late fees as applicable need to be paid. In case of late applications, the fee has to be deposited in the chosen Bank by 10th February, 2016 with late fee. After this date, no fees can be deposited.

If fee is being paid through e-wallet, applicant may make the cash payment to the Common Service Centre and obtain the auto-generated receipt of the amount paid.

For deposit of the fee by Credit/Debit card or through Net Banking, applicant may follow the instructions given at the website.

Finally, in Step-4, the applicant should take print out of Confirmation page(s) of online application format and preserve it for future reference along with copy of proof of fee deposited, if fee is deposited through e-challan/e-wallet (CSC) mode. Applicants should preserve at least three printouts of the Confirmation Page of online Application. They should also keep at least 5 copies of identical passport size Photograph that was scanned and uploaded on the Online Application, at least 2 similar post card size photos (same as scanned and uploaded on the online application). Copy of the system generated Self Declaration should be retained by candidates from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J&K who have opted for seats under 15% All India Quota .

The Candidates are not required to send the confirmation page of his/her Online Application form to the Board.

Admit Card:
The CBSE will provide the facility of downloading Admit Cards on the Board’s website along with a format for affixing of Postcard size photograph from 1st April, 2016.. Candidates are required to download the admit cards from the website and follow the instructions given therein. Admit cards will not be sent by post. The Admit Card will bear the candidate’s Roll Number, Name, Father’s Name, Category, Sub-Category, Photograph, Signature, Date of Birth, Language of Question Paper with Name and Address of examination centre allotted. The candidate should carefully examine the Admit Card downloaded by him/her for all the entries made therein. Candidate must not mutilate the Admit Card or change any entry made therein. Candidates are advised to preserve their Admit Cards in good condition till admission in Medical/ Dental Colleges is over.

On the day of the examination, the Examination Centre will be opened 2 hours and 30 minutes before the commencement of the test. No candidate shall be allowed to enter in the examination centre after 9.30 a.m.

Candidate must sign twice on the Attendance Sheet at the appropriate place, first time immediately after the commencement of examination and second time while handing over the Answer Sheet to the invigilator. Candidates are also required to put their Finger Impressions in the space provided on the Attendance Sheet.

Candidates are not allowed to carry any material except the Admit Card and photographs inside the Examination Hall. Pen will be provided at the centre for writing of particulars on the Test Booklet and responses on the Answer Sheet.

Fifteen minutes before the commencement of the test every candidate will be given a sealed Test Booklet. Immediately on receipt of the Test Booklet the candidates should fill in the required particulars on the cover page of the Test Booklet with Ball Point Pen provided at the Centre. Candidate will not open the Test Booklet until asked to do so by the invigilator.

Five minutes before the commencement of the Test, the Candidate will be instructed to break/ open the seal of the Test Booklet. Candidate will take out the Answer Sheet carefully. Candidate should check carefully that the Test Booklet Code printed on Side-2 of the Answer Sheet is the same as printed on Test Booklet. In case of discrepancy, the candidate should immediately report the matter to the invigilator for replacement of both the Test Booklet and the Answer Sheet.

Candidate will then write particulars with ball point pen on both the sides. After completing this step the candidate will wait for the signal by the Invigilator to start the test.

After completing the Test and before handing over the Answer Sheet, the candidate should check again that all the particulars required in the Answer Sheet have been correctly written and marked.

Candidates should ensure before leaving the Examination Hall that they have handed over the Answer Sheet to the invigilators on duty and that they have signed on the Attendance Sheet second time also.

The candidate should not do any rough work or writing work on the Answer Sheet. All rough work is to be done in the Test Booklet itself.

Result:
The Central Board of Secondary Education will prepare the list of successful candidates of AIPMT-2016. Applicant should secure not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the entrance examination, to be included in the rank list. SC, ST and OBC category candidates should score 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in the entrance examination. For persons with locomotor disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for Gen-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.

A list of the successful candidates in order of merit based on the score obtained in the examination will be prepared by the Board and forwarded to the counselling authorities for the purpose of allotment of seats.

Admission and Reservation: An All India merit list of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test and candidates shall be admitted to MBBS/BDS courses under 15% All India Quota Seats and seats under the control of participating State Governments/Universities/Institutions from the said list only by following their Reservation Policies and other admission criteria.

In case of seats in Government Medical Colleges under 15% All India Quota, 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates and 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates. 27% seats are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC candidates in Central Educational Institutions only. 3% seats are reserved on horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped candidates (only for locomotor disabilities of lower limbs between 50% and 70%.

State/University/Institution(s) opting to admit students in its MBBS/BDS Course from the merit list of AIPMT 2016, will prepare separate rank list based on All India rank in AIPMT and other criteria decided by them. The list of State/University/Institution(s) who have decided to use the result of AIPMT 2016 as on the date of publication of the Information Bulletin is at Appendix-IV.

Admission to AFMC, Pune shall be subject to the norms prescribed by the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Candidates who apply for AIPMT 2016 and also seeking admission in AFMC will also have to apply to AFMC on http://www.afmc.nic.in/, http://www.afmcdg1d.gov.in. The short listed candidates will be required to appear for a second stage Screening Test conducted by AFMC.
